My long time family friend has recently become something of a nutrition expert (or so he says). Today he was telling me some of the major points to losing weight:
1. 2 glasses of water before eating
2. Excersize
3. Fruits and veggies and nuts
4. Healthy fats
5.Don't eat before 11
6. Don't eat two hours before bed
But he was also telling me that you have to eat a lot of the right stuff during the day or your metabolism slows down major- I already knew that; for every 24 hours you don't eat, your metabolism goes down 40% or so.
He also gave me a rundown of what he eats during the day, and it's a crap load of stuff! I don't think I could do all that. I haven't been eating breakfast or lunch (well trying not too), and only eating dinner. Tomorrow I might try to add an apple somewhere in there.
I'm just scared of slowing down my metabolism a lot to the point where it grasps on to whatever you give it, essentially making you gain weight instead of the optimum goal to shed it.
I feel very bloated and fat because I nibbled on fries at dinner tonight (I always lose my strength going out to dinner) and I'm now paying for it. I just hope I can redeem myself.
I might also look into doing a week long fruit and nut detox. Apparently even though apples are around 100 calories, they're the right kind of calories. Feels the same to me. 100 calories is 100 calories.
We'll see how it goes.
~baby steps~
Ps- I hate blogging from my phone, can't wait until I get home from the shore and can write better on my laptop. :)
pps- I have yet to get a scale (and it's #1 on my list of things to do before school starts) so I don't know exactly how much I weigh, but it can't be pretty. I've been catching up on numerous blogs on here, and updated my following list (so that's really good), so hopefully this year will be a successful and happy year full of progress. Gotta start somewhere
